Christie YoungSmith serves as Elementary Program Associate on CSET’s Qitian project.  A graduate of the Stanford Graduate School of Education and Johns Hopkins University, Christie is currently pursuing her doctorate at American University with a focus on Antiracist Education Policy and Leadership. Christie has worked and taught in the U.S., Hong Kong, and Shanghai, China, exploring K-6 international education, student-centered pedagogy and practices, and her own intersectional identity as a Chinese-German-American person. In addition to teaching and researching in formal educational systems, Christie is also interested in rethinking the educational space, and has worked in Museum Education at the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Smithsonian Institutions, and the Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University.
