Academic Program Professional
Annie Camey Kuo is the Director of Research-Practice Partnerships for Understanding Language. Her work focuses on building systems of support for multilingual students with districts, states, and organizations. Annie is currently working on a partnership with Achievement Network to address the needs of multilingual students, a framework for designated English Language Development, and is the project director for two Stanford-Sequoia research-practice partnerships – one focused on English learners and design thinking and the other on understanding the impact of COVID with multiple stakeholder groups cross four districts. Annie received her PhD in Language, Literacy, and Culture from the University of Washington, a MA from New York University in TESOL and Foreign Language Education, and a BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is a 1.5-generation immigrant from Taiwan and a practitioner at heart, having taught at various grades in K-12 and higher education in California, New York, and Washington.
