Our Team - Staff
Dr. Annie Camey Kuo is the Project Director for CLAVES, an IES funded language and literacy project supporting multilingual learners and their teachers. Before coming to Stanford, she worked with teachers and international school leaders in addressing the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse students at the University of Washington, where she received her Ph.D. in Language, Literacy, and Culture. Annie also holds a MA from New York University in TESOL and Foreign Language Education, and a BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her current projects focus on building systems of support for multilingual learners with districts, states, and organizations. Annie’s areas of expertise also include design thinking, project- and problem-based learning, and research-practice partnerships. She is a 1.5-generation immigrant from Taiwan and a practitioner at heart, having taught at various grades in K-12 and higher education in California, New York, and Washington.
