Monica Sircar

Doctoral Student

Monica Sircar is an incoming Ph.D. student in Science Education. She holds a B.A. in Human Biology from Stanford University and an M.A. in Science Education from the University of California - Berkeley. Monica cares about designing coherent science learning experiences that invite all students to make sense of their experiences and solve real-world problems using scientific practices, as well as supporting science teachers in undertaking ambitious instruction. She has served as a reviewer of NGSS-design in science materials, and she is co-developing an educator course on project-based learning in math and science as a Knowles Senior Fellow. Prior to Stanford, Monica was a curriculum writer for BSCS Science Learning and a science curriculum lead for Summit Public Schools. Additionally, she taught three years of middle school science and four years of high school AP Environmental Science in the SF Bay Area.
