CSET Professional Learning

Hollyhock School Leaders Institute

Hollyhock School Leaders Program

This program is no longer running. Information about CSET's School Leadership Program is here

The goal of the Hollyhock School Leaders Institute (HSLI) was to build a professional community of leaders at Hollyhock Schools interested in supporting one another while leveraging key best practices of the Hollyhock Fellowship across the entire school. Accordingly, HSLI provides school leaders with an opportunity to understand the Hollyhock fellows’ learning experience, to learn about CSET's practice-based approach to professional learning, and to engage with other school leaders to take full advantage of this opportunity to strengthen the teaching and learning at Hollyhock schools. Below you can learn more about the goals of the program and a sample agenda.

Hollyhock School Leaders will...

  • Understand CSET's practice-based approach to professional learning and what it means to focus on and support core practices of teaching so that  they may maximize the experience of their teacher fellows and leverage fellows’ learning across the larger school context.
  • Understand Hollyhock fellows’ learning experience and the importance of developing teachers’ pedagogical content knowledge. School leaders will consider how to apply this understanding to strengthen teaching and learning in their schools.
  • Explore the Hollyhock Equity Framework and use their Knowledge of Institution to address systemic problems of practice in equity in their contexts.
  • Engage with other Hollyhock school leaders to build a professional community that provides support for each other in solving common problems of practice.

Here is a sample of our agenda from the 2021 virtual session.
