Equity in Education Conference 2020: Bridging Research to Practice
Along with the Cross Area Committee in Race, Inequality, and Language in Education (RILE), CSET invites K-14 practitioners to engage with us in considering how to better serve students who are traditionally underserved.
This full day of learning includes a call to action by students; three sessions of 90-minute, practitioner-based workshops; and a networking lunch to discuss the question of how to bridge research to practice in service to equity in our schools.
Lunch is included. One continuing education unit is available with your full day's attendance along with the completion of a brief online follow up for you to share resources and applications of learning with other conference participants.
You will learn:
- To develop strategies for how to better serve students who are underserved by our schools.
- How research-based, equitable teaching strategies are practiced by teachers to improve student learning and outcomes.
- Models of best practices to use education technology in support of teaching and learning.
- To better serve our students by engaging in interactive workshops focused on understanding student identities, language, and culture to inform the creation of equitable learning environments.
