Kelly Boles is a Ph.D. student in Curriculum and Teacher Education: Mathematics as well as in Learning Sciences and Technology Design at Stanford, where she researches both traditional and online professional development opportunities for teachers in rural, remote, and under-resourced areas. Prior to starting her doctoral program, Kelly taught secondary mathematics and computer science in rural Appalachia; worked as a master teacher and PD facilitator for a regional educational cooperative; and served as a secondary mathematics coach, PD designer, and curriculum writer for multiple national organizations. She is passionate about working toward educational equity through the lens of teacher professional development opportunities.
